Our journey to pick her up

In October 2004, we bought our first sailboat. Actually, we bought it on Ebay on October 10, which was our 29th anniversary. I had been researching "pocket cruisers" for several weeks and felt Morgan 22's were great undiscovered gems. After conversing with the seller (Jim) and finding him to be an honest and trustworthy man, Rick and myself (Becki) agreed to bid a grand total of $****.** (price removed because I now believe she's worth so much more that it was in insult to her to show it) since we couldn't bear to see her sell cheaper than that.

Imagine our surprise when our bid won!! Here was a 22.5 foot long sailboat that weighed 3500 pounds with a 7.5 hp 1976 Mercury longshaft AND a heavy duty tandem axle trailer that WE now owned! GREAT, except....we were in Michigan and it was in WI. Not too far, right? Well, no....except Chicago stood between us and it. YUCK! No offense to city dwellers but Rick and I are about as country hickish as you can get (except we really dislike country music, preferring classic and new rock), the thought of driving home through that city gave us both the heebie jeebies. Still....what's a couple going to do if they want their boat?

This website is one that I hope to dedicate to our new family member. Since we've had a hard time finding much info on Morgans online (let alone the 22 model), I'm going to link or post any/all info we do have.
